I am still trying to make my mac like a windows box, but it’s getting better all the time. Now I canput my mac to sleep.

I haven’t really used a mac since 1997. One of the best things about it of course is the bsd-like operating system beneath the hood.
Here is what I have learned thus far.
First things to install:
- Xcode - install X11 and gcc
- sidetrack - will return 10% of your cpu back to you
- quicksilver - Act without Doing (ahem)
Choose what you’re going to use for ports: Fink or Darwin Ports.
Fink is a debian based package manager with a handy gui. After you install you will want to upgrade your Fink Commander. Darwin Ports is a bsd based command line tool.
